I grew up watching Audie Murphy with my dad. My dad died a few days ago and my favorite memory is watching Audie Murphy in his westerns with my dad. Added: April 6, 2017

I was a good friend of Audie in California and we saw each other alot. I knew him from Universal Studios. We were both from Texas.I am still sad that he has passed. I wish his two sons the best. Their Dad was great and I really loved him. When I knew him my name was Nancy Finley. God bless his sons!!!

my dad fled finland to return to the US were he was born but could not serve as he was blind in one eye. He was proud of those that served for him and raised us to be also. Those that demonstrate against everything they can think of do not know what our service people won for us. My dad saw the Nazis soldiers take what was not theirs and abuse the people and made sure that we did not forget and I passed that on to my children (one who served in desert storm). My Dad was a WWII Veteran, and told me how great a solder Audie was. In 1992 I met Scottie Turner (a fellow Canadian) and he sent me two C90 cassettes packed with Audie/Scottie songs. I took 9 songs and scored it for a 52 piece orchestra. .. In the 17+ minute arrangement I included the melody of Lili Marleen (which was a favourite song of my Father by Marlene Dietrich)... I had it performed by a student orchestra I put together in Boston. Right now I plan to make some changes to the arrangement, program it into a computer demo and present it to the Nashville Symphony..... How great would that be for them to perform that piece at the War Memorial Auditorium (in Nashville) at their usual November 11th concert. BTW... did y'all know ? After WWII, even the Germans awarded Audie Murphy. and I got to hold his Walther P38. Added: March 12, 2017
