I've always been a fan of his life since my dad introduced me to his movies and military accomplishments back in the 60s

Just this week I re-read (again) 'To Hell and Back.' The movie does not do his autobiography justice.

His incredible luck spared him in WWII. His name must have been shortened from audacious because he was.

He often said he didn't know from where his courage emanated but I opine his Murphy surname gives us a clue.

While in Arlington Cemetery I only wanted to visit three grave sites: the Tomb of the Unknown, JFK and Audie Murphy. To this day I pray for the indomitable spirit he is.

Throughout the book he rememberd so many of those killed by name. i'm sure there are others who were able to do the same but Audie impressed me with this ability.

I cannot say enough about my admiration for him and the character he formed from God knows where.

It is an honor to be born in the same country as this man and my son is named Leonidas in part because of Audie's middle name. I am glad you have this page and I hope my son can sign it too when I tell him about the great Audie Murphy.

What a great soldier an American. Too bad he could not continue on to West Point. I think he would have done a greater service to this country.
