I have been following Audie since I was 16yrs old and now I’m 67. I’ve met some wonderful fans this summer. Also began collecting more memorabilia. I’ve got all his movies, his autobiography, Price of Valor and much more. Hi

Admin reply: Thank you for your comment Denise. And may I say to you, a few hours early, "Happy Audie's Birthday"? Well, I said it and I hope you enjoy yourself. June 20th is Audie's birthday!

A few years ago. I came across historical true life heros like Audie Murphy. I was never a historical fanitic in school. I guess teachers weren't into historical facts, back then. Now as I've gotten older, noticed that our true history is being erraticated from our history books. True hero's like Audie Murphy should never be forgotten. Young men and women need true facts, instead of Marvel hero figures. The truth of real life individuals, like Audie Murphy, give creedence, that true real life hero's do
exist. Youth need someone to look up to. Individual's like Audie Murphy have raised the bar pretty high. I believe we have many young hero's in the making. Not just in military combat, but most importantly, in life itself.

Admin reply: Augustine, I agree. The facts are too hard to find these days. The "ratings" are foremost in journalists minds. As a teacher I can tell you that "socially correct" books that offend no one are the only books public schools buy. Thank you for your comment!

I am 66 years old and have been an Audie Murphy fan since I first seen him in the movies in the later 1950's. Audie was always someone I looked up to and that I told others about all my life. He was an inspiration to many. His movies are still a favorite for many also, showing often on numerous stations almost daily. Long Live Audie Murphy's Memory!!!

Admin reply: Jack, I live in Japan for many years (I am an employee on a US Army military base) and can tell you of many Japanese who know of Audie. It's encouraging that many people remember. Thank you!

Audie was a great man, he is a role model for every young man in this country. I wish I could have shaken his hand.

Admin reply: Me too. And there is no doubt that if you could see him today, he would shake your hand. He was a very humble and unassuming man who liked to be with the common man. Thank you for your comment too!

I forgot -- in case there are other parents perusing the webpage looking for books for their sons, I found another entitled "An American Knight: The Life of Col. John Ripley, USMC" by Norman Fulkerson. Col. Ripley served in Vietnam. My sons enjoy his book very much also.

Admin reply: Thank you again Lisa. I appreciate your suggestion and hope it benefits others.

As a homeschooling mother of four sons, I am constantly looking for good role models for them. I purchased for them one of the books you have on your list, "Real Men", and a merit system had to be set up to earn it because each one wanted to read it first. I learned about it first here. My oldest son wrote his first high school research report on Audie Murphy.
I have two daughters also and I found the story of his wife, Pamela, to be just as inspiring. She is a good role model for our girls -- an example of perseverance and keeping faith which should inspire all wives, especially wives of men who are struggling with trauma or any other difficulties. She's also a great hero.
Thanks so much for your work with this site and for providing books that we can give to our sons.

Admin reply: Hi Lisa! Such a nice, thoughtful comment. Please tell your children to keep up the good work and that a teacher in Japan (on an Army base ... me) is proud of their efforts!

I enjoyed my visit to the museum in January. I am unsure as to how up-to-date this site is. I intend to come to the celebration in August. Would be better if Iinfo on the event was more prominent.

Admin reply: Yes ma'am, I agree. The American Cotton/Audie Murphy museum event now scheduled in August has probably been effected by the COVID-19 / social distancing. No doubt there were calendar changes made because of it. I visited their website and see that they have a museum Facebook page that does looks. You can message them by visiting: https://www.facebook.com/audiemurphyamericancottonmuseum

I hope this helps!
