My dad was drafted into the Army when he was a freshman at Syracuse University, majoring inn journalism. He was in Patton's Third Army and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy. I'll never forget his stories about the War and Audie Murphy. When he passed away, we found a diary that we never knew existed.
I'm a history teacher and every year I tell my students about my dad's experiences fighting to preserve our freedom and about Audie Murphy. '

Most kids' heroes these days are basketball, baseball and football stars or rock stars. They take our freedom for granted and don't know about the brave heroes who fought to make a better life for future generations.

Audie Murphy's story should be part of every U.S history curriculum.
God bless America!

I grew up watching and admiring, Audie Murphy. I made a diary of him as I was growing up, but have since lost it, for he and another were my hero's and are, still to this day. It was an honor to watch him and to learn how he became a hero at such a young age. :)

I was told of him when I was young. I always enjoyed his movies and sought them out because he was still a hero to me.

My heartfelt thanks remains with all those who gave so much of themselves that I, now 75 years old, do proudly say it is because of their unselfishness that I have been blessed with a life lived in a country like no other. Freedom is not free, and these brave men and women are proof of that. May we never forget how much was spent to make us a free nation, and how much is still to be done to keep it a free and great nation. United we stand and divided we fall. There is no room among our leaders for division...we must protect our Constitution and what it means to all who love this United States of America. Thank you Audie for all you gave without hesitation or regret. My Great American Hero!

My dad was also in WW2 and was a really big fan of Audie Murphy. I've heard about how great he was since I was a little boy.
