Gone, but never forgotten. Visited the Smithsonian and saw the display there. I also visited Audie's grave at Arlington. Audie is one of America's greatest heroes.

In loving remembrance of Audie Murphy, who Gen. "Iron Mike" O'Daniel called "the greatest combat soldier I have ever known", and who MOH recipient, Maj.Gen.Keith Ware, KIA, said was "without a doubt, the finest soldier I have ever seen in my entire (3 wars) military career".

God bless you and your brothers-in-arms, Audie, and though Texas and your countrymen, to their everlasting SHAME, have forgotten you, this Canadian will NEVER forget you in this world or the next.

Nice site. Good to see the memory of a great war hero kept alive it's a pity more history isn't taught at schools ..A lot of today's youth don't have a clue about their countries (or the worlds) past. As for Audie. He's not my favorite actor but he is up there in the bunch. I've always liked him and his movies.. "to hell and back" is on TV as i type..cheers, Bill.
