Loved the website and pictures. I have always enjoyed Audie Murphy's movies and was intrigued to find he was a war hero and a lover of horses. I have seen articles in the past of Audie's horses and noticed in particular that he rode many Quarter Horses.

He seemed just a kid when he won the Medal of Honor. We should not forget him as a symbol of what our country can be.

I had heard of Mr. Murphy of course, but I did not know the extent of his amazing acts of bravery, nor that he looked like the newspaper boy and was 18 at the time. It's a truly incredible story and I am very thankful for what he did for our country.

As a young person separated from WWII by two generations, my understanding of the war has largely been limited to grossly abbreviated accounts in school textbooks. That I learned about Audie Murphy at all is due to a chain of events containing Bill Mauldin's book Up Front and the movie Red Badge of Courage. Reading Murphy's book To Hell and Back left me with as many questions as answers about the life of this remarkable man, and finding the information to answer them has proven extremely difficult. I want to thank the creators of this website for their efforts to make such information available and for their efforts to raise awareness of the many heros of WWII, of which Audie Murphy is an outstanding example.

I'm only 33 and I have ALWAYS known who Audie Murphey was. I feel sorry for others my age and younger who don't know what an amazing person he was. I thank my father for keeping his memory alive for me to learn. As a fellow Texan I have an enormous sense of pride to count myself in a group with him. God Bless Audie L. Murphy
