I have always held Audie Murphy as a hero. We should hold our heros up at all times for they have given us the freedom that we all are blessed with today.

Audie Murphy is and has been my hero since I learned about his amazing army career. I think no one will ever match him.

It appears that we were all born in a war zone where the pressures of life cause many a man to choose the easy way out of abandoning their loved ones, like I saw Audie Murphy's father and other heads of households do in his movie, "To hell and Back." But Audie honorably personified the other choice available - that of aggressively defeating evil with good. He did this with the Nazis during the war and then with the demons that followed him home after the war. Peace comes from defeating our enemies rather than appeasing them and Audie is our shining example.

I'm 20 years old and, until recently, just learned who Audie Murphy was. It's a shame more people from my generation don't know about this great American hero. I will do my best to keep his legacy alive.

I liked Audie Murphy since I was 16 years old. It took me 38 years to go visit his grave in Arlington, VA. It is the most memorable moment in my life. My favorite movie he was in is "To Hell and Back" :!brokenheart:

It is a great honour for me to leave my name on this guestbook. As a child growing up in the 1950s I was aware of the heroism of this man which has remained with me to this day. His loyalty and dedication to his family, friends and comrades and his country is an example to us all. Thankfully Hollywood preserved his image and while still in his prime. His passing was a great loss. Gone too soon. May his memory never fade.
