Nice to have this site. This is one individual that certainly does deserve it. I still have the news article that I cut out of the paper of Audie's death when I ten years old. Audie Murphy was true American Patriot and military hero. I watched his movies as a kid and even now as Senior Citizen. I have read his book, "To Hell and Back" as well as watched the movie several times. It would have been an honor to have known him or even met him and shook his hand. I first went into the US Army after HS 1965 and was sent to Viet Nam, got out in 1968 and enlisted in the US Navy in 1974 and retired 1992.
I believe that he is the reason for my military service.
He is a well known American Hero!
