I saw "To Hell and Back" recently, and I must say that he was a "real American war hero" for his exploits in WW II. Oh yes, a "Whispering Smith" TV series episode "The Interpreter" was found last October at The Library of Congress, so you can watch it at TMG's website or You Tube. Added: February 16, 2012

Audie Murphy is, in my view, the greatest American of all time. I have been infatuated by him since I first saw "TO HELL AND BACK", when I was about about ten years old. I watch everything I can that has him in it. To loose him at the young age of 46 was a tradgedy. I hope more young people made an attempt to check him out.
