I remember Audie Murphy, mostly from his movies. We are fortunate to have a western channel via Dish Network. I am currently watching "The Texican" which I have on pause while I write this note. His movies are frequently shown on this network. I thought I would such the web to find out a little more about Audie and ran across this website.

Thanks for keeping his legacy alive!

I have always held Audie Murphy as a hero. We should hold our heros up at all times for they have given us the freedom that we all are blessed with today.

Audie Murphy is and has been my hero since I learned about his amazing army career. I think no one will ever match him.

It appears that we were all born in a war zone where the pressures of life cause many a man to choose the easy way out of abandoning their loved ones, like I saw Audie Murphy's father and other heads of households do in his movie, "To hell and Back." But Audie honorably personified the other choice available - that of aggressively defeating evil with good. He did this with the Nazis during the war and then with the demons that followed him home after the war. Peace comes from defeating our enemies rather than appeasing them and Audie is our shining example.

I'm 20 years old and, until recently, just learned who Audie Murphy was. It's a shame more people from my generation don't know about this great American hero. I will do my best to keep his legacy alive.
