My friend and I were talking this evening about Hollywood actors who had served their country. My friend brought up Audie's name. I knew he was a medal of honor recipient, but never knew the rest. I am in awe.
To think that God created such a young hero, only to be ripped away from us at such a young age.
God bless you for your efforts.

I was raised as an Army "Brat." My dad was an infantry
training officer throughout most of WWII. I am not sure
of my exact age when I became aware of Audie Murphy and
his war record, but, I can say that from that time forward, he was and has remained a person for whom I hold the very highest esteem. My appreciation for what he did for our country in defense of our freedoms can never be equalled or exceeded. I don't know how many adults in our country know of Audie Murphy and his acts of bravery, but hopefully medhe will never be forgottten
and always remembered as a soldier that put everything
on the line so that we can enjoy what we have today.

I watched Audie's movies since I was a kid. Until this year I did not know his war experience. I have now read several biographies including his own. I have several movies of his on DVD. I would like to see more on DVD. How can I get more on DVD?

I am part of the baby boomers born after WWII. From the time I was old enough to watch movies on TV, I became aware of Audie Murphy. My parents told me that he was more than just an actor. I was told what an amazing person he was during WWII and that he earned every medal our country offered plus a whole lot more. As a child I was very impressed with his bravery and how important he was to our country. Kids today do not have those kinds of heroes. I hope that his story can be passed along to future generations.

Loved Audie Murphy while growing up. I saw the movie "To Hell and Back" as a young girl and it made a huge impression on me. I remember where I was when I heard on the news that he had died in a plane crash. It was a sad day for me.
