I am very happy and honored to respond to this site. I am a retired commercial pilot and am humbled by the accomplishments of Audie Murphy. I remember his western movies very well, as I saw them in the 1950's and 1960's as a boy. I had seen "To Hell and Back" Last night. I have seen this movie many times. I noticed that today is May 28,2012 and it is the anniversary of his unfortunate flying accident May 28, 1971. Please accept my thanks to his family and friends to honor and remember Audie Murphy as a decorated American Hero. I only wish that I could have met him in person.

Thank you ---- Fred Repay

I just watched the movie to "To Hell and Back" for the first time and loved it. I am a student of history, particularly WW II and I found it very insprational. What impressed me about Audie was his sincere humbleness along with his courage and awesome leadership. I ordered the book from Barnes & Noble and am looking forward to reading it I will help keep his memory alive and tell my grown children about him. We desperately need people like Audie as role models for our young people today. His story should be taught by teachers in every school in America. Thank you for this memorial website and I wll tell others about it.

This is a wonderful site dedicated to the memory of one of America's bravest soldiers. I enjoyed his acting and was a devoted fan. I've been to Arlington and visited his grave. It was a very special moment for me, one I will always cherish.

I have been an Audie Murphy fan ever since first seeing his "To hell and Back' movie when i was 10. Probably have seen the movie 20 times if I've seen it once. Sure am dissappointed I missed all the USPS comemoratives over the years done in his honor. He will be my idol forever.
