Today, people do not have an inkling of the sacrifices made by men and women of our past.

Audie was one of America's greatest soldiers. To do what he did required tons of guts! I served in Vietnam but didn't come anywhere close to what Audie did. Nowhere near! He should always be remembered by a grateful nation.

In the past week I have turned on my television and have seen Audie Murphy westerns and wanted to refresh what I have learned over the years about this American war hero who died tragically fifty years ago. Thank you for this website that shares his life with those interested in his life.

I fall in love with western movies...of course our beloved Audie Murphy’s western movies are my preference...an EXECEPTIONAL HERO...he should be canonized as a SAINT...as I read about him for the first time with sadness and tears..may he RIP....Jeanne St Bazile from Philadelphia PA

Glad to see this site. A big part of the Greatest generation. I am brought to tears reading about Mr. Murphy and his Comrades. My Father Served in a B-24 Bomber over Europe, 50 missions total. He never talked about the war much. He did say later in life that in the beginning they lost 50% of their Bombers on each mission. The People of the USA could learn alot about sacrifice and hard work from this Generation that is almost gone. I fear our Country is Lost now. A melting pot no more. A place now for "whats in it for me" people and free handouts. All my Uncles Served also and the last one a Purple heart Winner just passed at 96. Thank You from an American that still cares about your Sacrifice. Joe DiDomenic SSGT USMC 1976-1982.

Hi, my dad became a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy club February 9th 1999, we recently discovered that his certificate had been destroyed and I was wondering if there was any way it could be replaced? I’m not really sure what to do at this point unfortunately and I’m trying all of my options.
