First off Thankyou, Mr.Audie Murphy for your Service and for all the great memories . I would like to also Express my gratitude to the creator of this site as well to the moderators and all support. After so many movies and articles I decided as I watch "The Duel At Silver Creek" to ignore the HORRIBLE commercials and find out more about this under represented wonderful Man. My family has also served in WW2 and beyond and still serving this Great Nation. My great uncle was shot down over Anzio Italy January 22 1944 His name was Maurice Merren we all except me hail from Sandlake MI. Kent Co. That said I understand duty and thoroughly enjoyed this site and the Reverence that it serves in tribute to such a wonderful Man. I will spread this link best I can and not mourn his untimely death but Celebrate his life this June 20th will be a new day every year I will celebrate solemnly with great respect from this year forth. ;)

Audie Murphy is an American Hero and icon and is a symbol of how an unassuming man can surpass any obstacles they come up against by sheer will and determination. I am a 2nd generation Navy veteran, my grandfather fought in WWI as an Army Infantryman and my father was a Fire Control Technician in the United States Navy in WWII. I have introduced my daughter Samantha to Audie Murphy, his life and accomplishments and she has become an admirer of this man. R.I.P my brother.

I grew up knowing of Audie Murphy to include his accomplishments of heroism in WWII and his acting. I have always appreciated his contributions and thought of him as a Great American. I continue to enjoy his acting through the westerns. One day I would like to visit Arlington cemetery and see his gravesite, as a fellow 20 year veteran. Thank you for this site.

My father was a WWII vet as we're two of my uncle's. Both of my fathers-in-law were WWII vets. They were truly members of the great generation. We buried my brother at Arlington last December. He was a Naval Aviator for 23 years. I am very proud of them all as well as all of our military. I had health issues and didn't serve in the military but I served 40 years in county, state, and Federal law enforcement. My generation served in Vietnam and I have always felt I missed something however, all of my friends that served say I didn't miss a damn thing.

God bless our military and our vets who have suffers for our country.
