Comment:
One of the surprising things about Murphy is the quality of his poetry. His eloquence in matters of life and death is very moving. This enormously decent man suffered considerable grief for the orphans of those he killed in battle. God bless his memory and God bless his eternal soul. Added: May 8, 2021
Comment:
It is worth remembering, in this world of pomp and vanity, that were were men who laid their lives on the line to crush fascism and raise up and exult human freedom. Murphy was one. He was an enormously decent individual - literate, thoughtful, soft spoken, valorous, and uncommonly intelligent. In other words, he was a good man. I would have been honored to know him.
