My Dad made me aware of Audie Murphy at an early age, where we held him in the highest of regards. He detailed how Audie Murphy was the most decorated military member from WWII, along with fact that he later became an actor. My Dad also lamented what a shame it was that the media treated him so badly through the years. Thank you for maintaining this site so that others can learn about, and appreciate Audie Murphy, the a great patriot, and fellow veteran.

It is a shame that so many young Americans know so little about WW2 or the heroic efforts of the young soldiers that fought that huge war. Keep up the good work especially in these days of cultural disruption and attempts to erase history.

Audie Murphy is my all time hero ! He helped make the world a better place to live. His modest demeanor hid his underlying strength of character. A great husband and father who could show his gentle side. Audie will live on in our hearts forever. 🥰🎆

Only "discovered" Audie Murphy this past year, after family grown and gone, and the passing of my husband, with time to stop for a while and enjoy older movies on TV. Living in northeast Texas, I have felt great pride in Mr. Murphy.

I have developed an appreciation for not just his military service and his movies, but for him as a person and for his family, northeast Texas and otherwise. He appears to have been a person of character, gentleness, and caring, as well as talent.

His personality and personal character came through in the characters his portrayed. He appeared to be a person one could easily relate to. I wish we had more of his work to enjoy. Also more of his poetry and songs.

Watching the movie The Guns of Fort Petticoat. IMHO this is perhaps his best acting performance. I wish I had been fortunate enough to have met this greatest of WW2 heroes.

I love this website and contents. It is excellent and provides so much information. My father was a soldier and taught me at a very early age about Audie Murphy. He and his four older brothers fought in WWII and the patriotism of all who served should never be forgotten.
