As a Navy vet I am truly in admiration of what a real hero is in this great country in Audie Murphy. Please keep his name and memory alive as when I watch his movies I think of what our country needs today especially " To hell and Back" I relive what he must have gone through and even with a battle injury. I did not know him personally as i was not born and was very young when Audie was around. But i have watched most of his films over the years and he is one of my fav film stars along with alan ladd, robert taylor, and john wayne. My best film is,his bio war film. His death was very sad and i think the world has lost not only a great film star but a great man,and a hero.Who is sadly missed by all. I read his book "To hell and back" at the age of 11, and never forgot his story. Watched his films and felt good about this soldier making it in the civilian world. I was a second lieutenant in the Northern Norwegian Brigade when he died in -71. I still remember the feelings of loss and sorrow. In many ways he was my first role model(after my parents), and to me he still epitomizes what a citizen and a soldier should be.
