Audie Murphy, a quiet, but true American Hero, has been one of my hero's since I was a little boy in the 1940s. He will always live in the hearts and minds of those who remember...and we need to keep those memories alive.

It was through watching westerns that I wanted to know about the life of Audie Murphy. His life is quite inspiring. My adult children know of him through me....I have a hero.

I just happened upon this website after watching an old western starring Mr. Audie Murphy. What an awesome website. It certainly informed me about Mr. Murphy's contributions to our country. I learned at a very young age that he was the most decorated military person. I did not know all the other great things he did. My mother had told me, also at a young age, that Mr. Murphy had committed suicide. I don't know why. I am now 63 years old and still love his movies. I always wondered where he would be today if he hadn't died and would be a little angry that he committed suicide. Now I know the truth and am very saddened by this. It actually made me cry. He is a true Hero. He is more than a hero. I am so proud he was an American. I am going to try to find his poetry and everything else I can find on this wonderful man. From the man I had a huge crush on as a little girl, to the ultimate hero. More than a man above all men. Thank you very much for this website.
