I have always wanted to visit Arlington cemetery, so a couple of years ago i went out of my way on a motor cycle trip i took from Naples Fl. to Michigan. I made it a destination to see Audie's grave site and pay my respects. As long as I live i will always think of him as a great hero of our times.

I spent my childhood watching his movies with my grandfather. Every time His eyes would well up and he would salute at the end of To hell and back. That movie and Mr. Murphy meant that much to him. I recently found it on DVD and found myself drying my eyes and saluting.
Thank you Mr. Murphy for your service and the memories.

Born in 1959 I grew up hearing of the stories my uncles told of what happened to them in WWII. All told to me by my Mother.Growing up she and I watched all the movie made about the war. To Hell and Back was her favorite. I know all about Audie the Good the Bad and the Ugly.As a Navy Veteran I know all about the Stress,Heart Breaks and the pain he went through.I was 12 years old when he died and yes very little was said about it. I have never forgotten what he and his brothers did for us.For that He will always have My Eternal Respect and Gratitude.I Thank God for men like Audie.
