I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mr Murphy! Actually anyone that has ever Served my country has my respect. I too take satisfaction in being an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the U.S Army 1981-1985 (Field Artillery). My Great Uncle "Oakley O. Cravens" lost his life on 12/25/44 at the Battle of the Bulge. He was interred in Meintz France until he could be exhumed and returned to Pickett County Tennessee where he was laid to rest in the family cemetery. Added: May 13, 2014

I'll admit I had never heard of Audie Murphy until today. Turner Classic Movies aired "Bad Boy" this morning, and the opening credits stated that this was his first starring role. My curiosity about him led me to this memorial website. What an incredible man!! I am so glad I watched the movie and could learn about an American war hero. Added: May 13, 2014

From time to time I keep coming back to read about Audie Murphy, probably because I hold him in such high esteem and also my uncle served in the same Division and shared many of the same experiences. Such great men need to be honored and remembered by all good Americans for our freedom they preserved for US. Thank you for helping those who care remember. Added: May 11, 2014
