I grew up watching his movies. The first one I saw was "To Hell And Back" at the Twin Lake drive in theatre with my family explaining what a great hero he was. He was a man of honor, integrity and profound character and it came through the silver screen. Thanks for your service Audie and being a great role model.

Amazing Veteran. Wish I could have thanked him in person for his courage and stamina to help defeat the Axis powers during WWII.

I'm now 63 years old and my first memories of Audie as a kid where his movies which I loved . Many years later I revisited his movies and was happily surprised that , despite the variability of them , he was a surprisingly good actor . I then found out as much as I could about his war record , even finding a copy of to hell and back and my admiration for him grew proportionally . I have visited his grave at Arlington cemetery , the second most visited grave there , and discovered that some unknown person regularly ensures that a small US flag is there . I understand that he had some failings but his bravery was second to none and his attempts to help veterans is almost as great . When all is said and done he was a great man who deserves to be remembered and is certainly someone I will never forget !

I have always been in increasing awe of to many the greatest hero not only of WWII but in all of history.
His bravery was unsurpassed in countless situations and anyone close to Audie in bravery must have been a brave man indeed.
Very tragic that such a shining example of the best example of a human being I think there could be - his life taken in a plane crash in 1971.
But his legacy should live on forever and anyone not studying and paying homage to the greatest and perhaps gaining some inspiration and applying some of the countless examples and lessons of bravery by reaching into the deepest regions of their souls are missing out on becoming the best they can be. Bravery, Audie believed, could be shown on and off the battlefield and he showed that. MY father always loved him and taught me alot as a WWII veteran to never forget Audie or the many other heroes who are responsible for us being alive and still enjoying countless freedoms we never would be unless it were for the likes of 'Little Texas' Audie Murphy. God Bless you for all time, my friend!

I never knew much about Audie Murphy the War Hero I only knew that he was an Actor and that for me hearing his name mentioned brings back so many happy childhood memories of times spent with my late Father watching his Movies, he was an ardent fan. So I am amazed to learn he was an Hero and I hope to learn more about this part of his life.
