I server with the 3/7 199th Light Infantry Brigade in Vietnam 1966 to 1967 as an infantry squad leader but Audie Murphy was in a combat class by himself. A true hero and I am glad his memory is kept alive after all these years. A hand salute to one of Americas true great heros.

There are not enough words anyone can express to all the WWII heroes, both living and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the greatest country in the world to this day...but I have been a devotee of Audie Murphy from the days when I was a child and my father, God rest his soul, also a veteran of WWII and a Major in the chemical warfare division of the Army Air Corps, introduced me to him and I can't think of a better example of a human being who fought with more courage and with more devotion to his comrades, country and the good Lord than Li'l Texas Audie Murphy, the best example of a man who overcame fear many times to risk himself and garner the most medals for bravery of any Army WWII veteran and there were alot. Let us never forget him and try to follow in his footsteps!

Me and My husband, Norris Bailey have always loved Audie Murphy. Norris watches his movies over and over again. I purchased for him, when the commerative Audie Murphy Rifle came out and he has it and it has not and never will be fired. It is highly decorated with a lot of Audie Murphy himself. He adores this rifle because he was in the Air Force himself from 1954 to 1958. Also in Huntsville,Tx. a Lt. Col M.B. Etheredge a hero in World War II. He spent four years in Africa, Italy and France during the war. He was awarded three Silver Stars-the nations third highest military decoration for valor-two Bronze Stars for heroism and two Purple Hearts for being wounded. Audie Murphy spent his last part of his military under Col. Etheredge. Very interesting gentlemen and he just passed away Thursday, May 15, 201 at the age of 98. I did some volunteer work at the Veterans Museum in Huntsville,Tx. for awhile and got to meet this gentlemen and He has written a book and has DVD's out which are carried at the Veterans Museum in Huntsville,Tx. Very interesting man and was sharp as a tack until just before he passed away.
