Audie Murphy was a hero and in this day and age where people look to celebrities and sports heroes, who dishonor the title "hero" in every way, Audie Murphy lived it. It is too bad there are not more people like him today.

May his soul rest is peace.

I am a Vietnam veteran.Audie has been a hero of mine since 1955 when I read To hell and back,he is not only an American hero,but is to all the western world.In more recent times I have enjoyed all of his western movies.An inperation to all,espically servicemen.

FYI-The Erath County Historical Commission is submitting an application for the Audie Murphy Rodeo Arena which was located in Stephenville, Texas, in the 1950's and named for the war hero who was a frequent visitor to the area.
