I watched To Hell and Back this weekend and was reminded of what a wonderful soldier and person Audie Murphy was. It had been a long time since i had seen the movie before and told everyone i know about it. We need men like him today! Added: January 7, 2015

I grew up not far from his hometown. Actually not many miles from his home. We had a family friend that owned a VFW type bar. The Murphy family, to my knowledge had donated his burial flag to this family friend. Many years after that placed closed its doors, the burial flag got tucked away for safe keeping. In my teenage years, in the 90's, I did odd jobs for the family and I came across the flag. With assistance, I am honored to say, I was lucky enough I actually refolded the burial flag of Audie Murphy. Added: January 5, 2015

About 19 years ago I married a woman that was a HUGE Audie Murphy fan. She educated me on who he was and what he meant to her. I am still in awe when I think about him and everything he accomplished during WWII. I am also proud to know that he was a fellow "Brother" in Freemasonry. I have been a Master Mason for 25 years and the membership of this organization includes some mighty good men like Audie Murphy. We need more men like him in America. Added: January 5, 2015

S A KID I REMEMBER MY DAD TALKING ABOUT MR. MURHY. HE SPOKE HIGHLY OF HIM, MUST HAVE ADMIRED HIM TREMENDOUSLY. MAYBE IT WAS THE LACK OF EDUCATION THAT GAVE HIM A KINSHIP. MY DAD ONLU MADE IT THROUGH THE 6TH GRADE. HE WAS A VERY BRAVE YOUNG MAN. :) :) Added: January 4, 2015

My daddy a vetern himself, told the story to us a few years back of Mr. Murphy. We just got finished watching one of his movies and was intrigued to look up his history. I think it is ashame that any vetern would seemingly be forgotten. As its for our vets why we can have a free country. God Bless all our vets.
