I am a history enthusiast. Retired from the USAF I was stationed in Japan and Germany and have become increasingly interested in WWII, I enjoy watching old movies and recently watched To Hell and Back, and am researching Comrade Murphy's life and service. I am also the Commander of Haverhill memorial post 5245 Veterans of Foriegn Wars. Obviously Mr. Murphy was a man of superior caliber and great deeds, I would have very much liked to have met him and shared some conversation! Added: September 14, 2015

The first time I saw To Hell and Back I told my father that they should have gotten someone more believable to play the role of Audie Murphy. He very calmly told me, Audie Murphy IS playing Audie Murphy, and you cannot get more believable than that. How such a young man could show such concern for his men and his nature that he would repeatedly risk his life is so exceptional that it would be hard to believe under any other guise.
