As a retired Army NCO I try to educate the younger folks about Audie as much as possible. Unfortunately not many of our young folks today know of him or even much about the war he served in. I have even gone so far as to name my two Australian Cattle dogs Audie and Murphy just to strike up a conversation about him when I am out and about with them. He was a great and humble man.

When I tell friends abut Audie Murphy's military career they find it hard to believe and so I feel his name should be rememebered on suitable occassions

My dad has always loved Audie Murphy movies and respected the man himself. In this day and age of so called celebrities who are often no more than poor examples of human beings. Ill educated, vular and disrespectful, it is still a treat to watch a film of a genuine hero and decent person. We need more people of that calibre today more than ever.
