Audie had courage to face to face life as it comes. Humility to stay real, and remain true to the 'common man' priciples.

The Grit cable channel constantly runs Audie Murphy movies. I love watching them. Have been a great fan, since my dad a WWII vet introduced me to his movies, when I was a little girl. The ultimate is “To Hell and Back”.

Audie Murphy definitely distinguished himself as a soldier in WW II. Nonetheless, war should not be glorified in any way, as it reveals the worst trait in humans -- the propensity for extreme violence. People who disagree with me should look at Russia's war in Ukraine and convince themselves that what is happening there is good and praiseworthy.
