I HAVE BEEN AN AVID ADMIRER OF AUDIE MURPHY SINCE I SAW HIS PICTURE AND READ ABOUT HIM IN LIFE MAGAZINE WHEN I WAS ABOUT 10 OR 12. I SAW ALL OF HIS MOVIES AND MADE A PICTURE ALBUM ABOUT HIM. There is no greater virtue then Courage, York doesn't come close to Murphy, on the battle field, no one man does! Truth is stranger then fiction, this physically small man, turned down by most branches of our military, in combat was like an Army! There was never anyone like him in the history of America! And, because of his many acts of Courage, he could of easily won two Medals of Honor! Unfortunately,Great men like Murphy, in many cases are not liked by superiors, because they don't measure up! My stepfather who served in the Army during WW II didn't talk much about his wartime experiences. But, when he did, he spoke reverently about Audie Murphy and his amazing valor.
