From the first time I saw to hell and back I became fascinated with Audie Murphy. I have read his book and been to his gravesite at Arlington. Most soldiers that received the Medal of Honor did so because of a single heroic instant. Audie Murphy won his for a single heroic stand but could have won a couple more for other instances. That is impressive. I just bought a life magazine on the heroes of World War Two and his story was not even mentioned even though he was the most decorated American soldier ever. I hope in the near future someone would make another movie of his exploits so he will be remembered by today's generation. Added: June 25, 2017

So very proud and honored to have served my country and stood in the tradition of the leadership of such heroes and courageous men like Audie Murphy. My Grandfather fought at the Battle of the Bulge-never talked about it with anyone until me. Their courage in the face of evil should inspire us all. ATTENTION! Hand, SALUTE! Added: July 18, 2017

I used to watch his war movies with my dad and my grandfather. Great movies and great memories. My dad, James Alvado just passed this February at 87. He served in the Korean War and we just had a memorial on July 8th at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in New York for him. Then on the way home we stopped at Arlington National Cemetery and saw the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Audie Murphy's tombstone. It brought back great memories so I'm going to watch his movies with my sons. I have a very short video clip of Audie Murphy's Tombstone I would like to send to this website if possible let me know.
