My wife and I visited his museum in Greenville, TX. It was an impressive sight and great experience. What he did in WW II was amazing. I watch "To Hell and Back" every time it's on TV. The one person I would've liked to meet had he lived.

Audie seems to have been so brave and yet so humble. I actually knew someone who was acquainted with him in Hollywood, sadly that friend recently passed away. His fellow soldiers said that "To Hell and Back" down played his true bravery and how Audie kept telling the studio to tone it down. I often wonder if Audie didn't worry that people wouldn't believe the real story or if he just didn't want it to look like he was bragging.
This is how real heroes act, much like * * * Winters who lived the next town over from me in his retirement. He was also a wonderful example of a true hero.

Three cheers for Audie Murphy, our wonderful hero from WWII. I grew up watching Audie in films and they helped to inspire me to join both the U.S. Army and USMC. I like Audie's humble understated style and am happy that he made it home to have a family. I was sad when I leanred he died in a plane crash in Virginia.
God Bless Audie and our brave servicepeople!
God Bless America!

I have always admired Audie Murphy, since I discovered him in the movies. When I brought my first computer, I was able to discover a lot more about him. Great man, left us way to soon.

My Dad was a WWII get. I am always interested in the stories of the men who were there. I was raised to honor and respect those in uniform, civilian and military.
