Hello my name is Tom Arnolts. My grandpa John Rodino was a Radio operator in the 1st Battalion 15th Infantry and served as Audie Murphy's radio man for a portion of the war. He was with Audie the day he won his medal of honor. Sadly my grandpa passed away in 2008. Thank you for all the work to keep this site going and the memory of the greatest generation to ever live!.

Thank you,
Tom Arnolts

Admin reply: Hello Tom. Thank you for your interesting entry. On behalf of the Audie Murphy Research Foundation and its followers, we all thank your grand father, Mr. Rodino, for his honorable service. God bless him.

After all the war that he had known, all the war experiences he had, - he still volunteered to be sent to Korea, during the Korean War. What a remarkable American....

A true American Hero. There is no one like him to this day. He was also a great actor. We truly need more like him.

I am now 80 years old, a long-time retired elementary teacher and college instructor. I had a crush on Audie Murphy as a child of about ten or ll, and still do. I sent away to the movie magazines for photos of him. I continue to find Audie Murphy fascinating, but now from an adult perspective.

Audie Murphy was, and still is, a hero in every sense of the word. A man like him is special, why the Lord allowed him to live thru the hell he endured when so many others died is something we will never know on this earth, nor why he was taken in a plane crash after so many death defying incidents during the war. I just want to thank him, and perhaps we may possibly meet again in Paradise, and I will do that.
