I served in the 3rd Infantry Division during the 1990's, Audie Murphy is held as the ultimate soldier, and rightly so. I am very pleased to find this website and how it represents one of the greatest US heros. Thank you for making it possible for me to share this American treasure with my young children, and for reminding me of pride felt in the name Audie Murphy..... Added: October 29, 2012

I have been a fan of Audie Murphy since my childhood. Just now watching the movie Unforgiven with Bert Lancaster. Through the years I have lost track of Audie Murphy and was saddened this evening to learn of his death in 1971. How many movies did he make? What did he do after he quit making movies? My father, Clifford Belt, along with eight other siblings were from Farmersville and knew Audie. My aunt Zelma Belt Brooks stayed with me in 2005-2006 after hurricane Katrina destroyed her house in Pass Christian, Ms. and showed me where many people lived, or general area since some are no longer there, she was 83 at the time but sharp as a tack.
