I really like watching his movies. I also remember my dad Henry Cook talking about Audy when my dad was in Italy during WWII; I think my dad said that he and Audy were in the same batalion.

I have always enjoyed Audie Murphy movies, watching one now GUNSMOKE but even more I respect the fact that was a true hero. John Wayne was an actor playing heroes, Audie Murphy was a hero in true life who earned his medals honestly and has always earned my respect. People should be informed of his heroism. TO. HE'LL AND BACK as we'll as Murphy should be reintroduced to the public. I am sure, as you state that many people have no idea who Audie Murphy was and how he served his country. I think his life story should be retold with a well known and respected actor playing his part. People become well informed via biographical films. God bless you Audie Murphy and may you RIP! I wish I would have had the opportunity to personally shake his hand and say thanks. Audrey west

I have long been an admirer of Audie Murphy and I am also concerned that his memory and heroism will be forgotten.I am amazed how few young people recognize his name as he was and still remains one of America's greatest heroes. I have watched the film To Hell and Back numerous times and still get chills whenever I watch it.

My husband James Haltom knew Audie in the 60's. His dad worked on Audie's cars/trucks in Texas. My husband was about 13 or 14 and was terribly shy. Audie would talk to him for hours under a oak tree and even went for a ride on horseback with him on the ranch. He made a big impression on James. We watch every movie that comes on with Audie in it. I only wish I could have met him. What a hero. You can see in the movies how kind and gentle he was. My husband is a retired vet and knows how special Audie was. Thanks for putting this website up. There are some of us who really appreciate what you've done to keep his memory alive.

God bless you.

Tonight i am to give a short talk on a famous Freemason in my Lodge. In keeping with our "Honoring Veterans" theme of the night, I chose Audie Murphy.
