I have always been a fan and an admirer of Mr. audie murphy through his military and film career. It's a shame that men of Mr.murphy's proud military career are being forgotten by his country and younger generations.I am proud of are greatest generation for the historic service and sacrifice they made on behalf of our country.........

My son, Captain Joel E. Cahill assumed command of B Company several months before an IED took his life in Ad Dwar, Iraq on November 6, 2005. My wife, Barbara, and I will never forget Joel and Audie Murphy. I thought someone might me interested in the following article;

15th Infantry Regiment Association President, Tad Davis, said:)

Ironically, CPT Cahill and Audie Murphy shared a lot in common. Both were from small towns out west and joined the Army at a very young age. Both were well seasoned combat veterans who served in every leadership position from team leader to platoon sergeant before becoming an officer. Both looked after their men and always led from the front. The names and faces may change but the regiment will live on in the deeds of today’s generation of outstanding “Can Do” warriors. I would also like to add a special thanks to COL Bob Pricone, former 1st Battalion Commander, who ensured that CPT Cahill was laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery with full military honors just down the hill from Audie Murphy.

Audey L. Murphy is an inspiration for all who have served and are currently on active duty. It is ashamed that training commands do not keep the record straight by constantly reminding who have served before us. For Audey L. Murphy is to me and those who served with me an icon and the hospital named after him is truly living up to his name by the quality of care they render daily to so many south texas veterans. It is ashamed that yound soliders are not reminded who he was and what he represents to us all.
May God Bless the Audey L. Murphy family and staff at the hosptal and let them be reminded daily that there are those of us who respect and love all they do for us on a daily basis. May God Bless them all.

As a wounded warrior of the Korean War, I was very much an admirer of Audie Murphy. He represented this great country with the utmost for our freedoms and total disregard for his own welfare. He was a tremendous example of what all service members are asked to give for our great nation.. Audie gave it his all without losing his life in the time of his service. I agree that he should be remembered in perpetuity.

My Dad was at Anzio and was in North Africa before that.Then in Italy from the foot thru Cassino and all the way to the Brenner Pass.He was with the 34th Infantry Division Fifth Army.I watched Audie Murphy in the Movie and was happy for him that he survived the War too. I admired him and still admire both men. Dad and Audie Murphy.Eternal Rest grant them Oh Lord and let Perpetual Light shine upon them! Amen.
