I have recently gotten out of the army after serving over six years and two tours to Iraq. I have also earned a medal for Valor for courage under fire and I was part of the SGT Audie Murphy Club in the military as a Non commissioned NCO. I have nothing but respect for this man and have seen many of his movies.

Watching To Hell and Back right now...I'm not a huge fan of war movies, but this one has me hooked, especially knowing that it features a real life war hero. I'm so glad my grandpa has the honor and privilege of fighting with men like Audie to protect our country.

Very nice website. It's sad that most young people haven't a clue as to who Audie Murphy is/was. I'm a combat vet myself and have first hand knowledge of what men like Audie Murphy had to face on a day to day basis. And also the psychological problems they carry around for the rest of their lives. God bless Audie Murphy and all men like him.

Hello,
Several months ago,I contacted author David Morrell. In 1972,Mr.Morrell wrote his first book. You might have heard of it.It's called "FIRST BLOOD".With ALL DUE RESPECT TO AUDIE MURPHY,Mr.Morrell informed me that the character of John Rambo was based on Audie Murphy.NO JOKE.He was aware of the fact that Murph suffered from what was then referred to as "SHELL SHOCK".Today,it's referred to as "POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER".My Dad suffered from this.He was a Korean War vet.It sent him to an early grave at age 57,in Jan.1990.
What I'd like to see,is an updated version of "TO HELL & BACK".Introduce a younger generation to this story,& to Audie Murphy.THANKS.
