Many years ago I had the honor to stand at the grave site of Audie Murphy at Arlington. Even years after his death I felt so much pride that a man could give so much for his country. My profound hope is we never forget what he did, and to remember his story and his life.

I didn't even know who Audie Murphy was until after he died. In the mid seventies I loved watching western movies as a teenager and for some reason felt this connection to the actor and did all the research I could on him. Needless to say I now have the utmost respect for the man.

Just a veteran from a later time paying tribute to one of America's much more distinguished veterans.
