I had never heard of Audie Murphy until referenced in Tom Clancy novel. I'm glad I looked him up; it seems he was an amazing person and soldier.

audie to me was the best of the best in his era!
even in his movies he was the best and you could see it the way he handled himself throughout his career.
I was in the NAVY SEABEES M C B #3 in 1958 and i really enjoy his war movies but his cowboy movies are my favorite ones to watch. this is a good site keep up the good work...

AUDIE MURPHY DESERVES RECOG FOR HIS UNSELFISH ACTS. MY HUSBAND REC DBRONZE STAR AN UUIT PRESIDENTAL CITATATION HE SERVD IN PATTON 3RD AMORED DIVISION IN THE BATTLE OF THE BULDGE. LOST MANY COMMARES AND SAVING MANY MORE. MEN OF VALOR WORK SIDE BY SIDE TO GO FOTH TO DELIVER MANY. H NEVER TOOK RECOG OF HIS HONORS. TO THE DAY HE DIED I STILL WAS GETTING SLIVERS OF SCHAPNEL OUT OF HIS HDE.AUDIE MURPHY AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS WERE TRUE HEROES.

Many years ago I had the honor to stand at the grave site of Audie Murphy at Arlington. Even years after his death I felt so much pride that a man could give so much for his country. My profound hope is we never forget what he did, and to remember his story and his life.
