Audie Murphy was living proof that hero's are just ordinary people doing extra ordinary things. Thank you Audie for what you did for my and future generations.

Audie Murph was one the best soldiers to come out of the ranks of the United States Army, of all time. I hope that the generations to come realize the contributions he made to freedom and honor at that time in our history. Audie's story needs to be exposed to our young generation. Never to be forgotten!!! :)

As a Vietnam era veteran I appreciate and greatly admire Audie Murphy for his military service and his movies. He is my hero. I brag about him to people who never heard of him. I admire his great courage and am so impressed with the fact that he played himself in the movie "To Hell and Back". What a truly incredible man. Taken too early in his life I have awesome respect for all he accomplished in his life and the great service his wife contributed to veterans. May his sacred memory live on.

Hi!
Audie was "My Childhood Hero".
I can't think of anyone better to have as such!
I grew up on a Small Farm just a few miles from
the location where Audie left to "Go Home".

The following is an actual account of that Day!
I was outside with My Rifle(a Stick)in hand,and
My paperback copy of "To Hell And Back" in My right
hip pocket! I was just a young boy imagining that
I was Audie Murphy fighting My way to VICTORY!
The fighting was getting brutal, when My Dad came
down the road and pulled in the driveway, upon
departing His truck,I quickly moved in and shouted
"Get against The Wall and place Your Hands behind
Your Head" or I'll turn You into Swiss Cheese!
This is when Dad told Me that He had heard where
Audie Murphy had just died in a Plane crash on
the side of The Mountain just a few miles away!
I don't need to tell You how I felt!

I grew up and went on to become a Decorated Veteran
in The U.S. NAVY.
Audie was not only My HERO,but a "Great Inspiration".

I was a young girl during WW11, but I remember well the stories of Audie Murphy's heroism. Being a fellow Texan, it made me extremel proud. One of a kind, for sure.
