Went to the site today and was clad to see that others before us have donated different momentos, even the SAMC seal is there and in good shape. We will visit again in May to place a small american flag at the site. the large flag is still in pretty good shape but the Texas flag should be changed out. Added: March 21, 2013

When I was a child my parents used to take me and my sisters to the movies. I clearly remember Audie's performance and I was always very well impressed about him. Now that I am an adult it was my wish to get some information related to him. I was very sad to know that he died in a plane crash in 1971 (I never knew, as I got married by that time). I have very good memories of his movies and I declare myself as his fan. Added: March 20, 2013

I was sitting at th Fire hall the other day and asked my crew if they knew Audi Murphy, only 1 in 6 knew of him.
I was extremely saddened by the lack of knollage that the younger generation has of one of the greatest American heroes and one who gave so much for us all.
