I have watch just about every movie Audie Murphy made when I was young I thought he was a great actor and the movie To Hell and Back seemed so real like as if you were there. Knowing that it really did happen and he was so young and that our government does nothing to really take care of our men and women in the service some lost their lives and other lost leg or arms or both. I just don't under stand our government. Added: May 6, 2013

I am and Army SSG and I tell all my Soldiers who are stuggling about Audie Murphy. His is a story of over comming hardship and being told no you can't do wait it is you want to do. His is the example of taking all those na-sayers and not letting them stop you. To push with all your heart for what it is you want to do and what it is you know you need to do. Thank you for all your work on keeping his memory alive. Added: May 2, 2013

G'from Australia. As you can see my name is Dennis and I am 67 years young and I am also a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Unlike Major Murphy, I was only awarded the medals that come with serving in a war zone. IE Vietnam Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal,Australian Active service Medal and the Australian Defense Medal. I was a conscript and served only 2 years in the Royal Australian Regiment (ARMY) and after I returned home, I joined our Air Force (RAAF) and served a further 18 years giving me a total of 20 years service. I am old enough to remember Audie's movies as I was only about 12-13 at the time (I think). I was such a fan I would be dressed up in my cowboy outfit just like him. Anyway I have a really good and fond memories of him but I never knew until today that he was lost in 71. He was my hero and he still is today. Thank you so much for keeping this iconic legendary man in public attention. Cheers from Dennis ![]() Added: May 2, 2013

I spent two tours in Vietnam, 1 on Navy river patrol boat and 1 with my brother-Army Sargent; 175MM howitzer wake-up call, after a hangover, is just plain Rude! But that's the Army. We watched his westerns; didn't git to see "To Hell and Back" a week ago after buying the sites DVD copy. I luv it! I went back while my younger brother was in-country thinking they would have to send him back to the states.....nobody told Me, I would have die to accomplish that, till after both our deployments had ended. Bunch of damm smart-asses....in my opinion! AR Added: May 2, 2013 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts
