I learned about Audie Murphy at the induction Center at the Federal building in Downtown Dallas on August 23,1966.I knew of Audie Murphy as an actor.When I asked a marine Seargeant why was the picture of a movie actor at the US Army!s Indunction Center he told why,he told me that Audie Murphy was the most decorated GI in World War Two and ever since then I have had great respect for him.May he Rest in Peace!

As the daughter of an Army Seargent, the niece of an Army Ranger and the grandaughter of a WW2 veteran I grew up hearing and reading stories of men like Audie Murphy, Alvin York, and so many others. I love the fact that he was a Texan and if The Lord blesses me with children someday I plan to keep Mr. Murphy's memory alive along with all the other Texan and American heroes, at least in my family. My homeschooled siblings and myself grew up on his movies and at 24 I still love watching them! Thanks for your efforts to give honor where honor is due to a great American hero!
