I am a long time fan Of Audie Murphy. I have seen most of his movies including "To Hell and Back". I was a teenager in high school in 1971, when I had heard that he had passed away. I was completely heartbroken. My mother comforted me, when she saw how upset I was. This was a person, who I truly admired and respected. He overcame everything that the world had thrown at him, by not letting that stop him from achieving his goals. This is most definitely someone who should not be forgotten.

I had heard about Audie Murphy as a young kid, usually mentioned with great respect by the older folk. I also watched several of his films. What a hero he was. What an example to the young people of the world. Rest in peace Sir.

I am completing a Texas History Honors research paper on Audie Murphy. It has been an exciting experience getting to know the man, Audie Murphy. I feel for him too. He was a man like we all and did what we all should do - be more thoughtful of others in what we do. I am a vet and appreciate his story and what he did. I feel honored to have done this story. I will be remember Audie Murphy the rest of my life.
