Had a crush on Audie Murphy as a young girl, still to this day think he was one of the best actors I've seen. Love watching old movies of him! He will always be remembered by me. Didnt know till a few years ago he had obtained all the medals, very dismayed his home state had neglected him for so many years.

I feel Audie Murphy was a true American patriot who didn't like the nightmares he suffered for years after the war. His memory and sacrifices should never be forgotten.

Good old Audie. America went downhill after him and hasn't hit bottom yet, but trying.

Audie had such a "hard scrabble" beginning in life. Also his siblings ! It's a wonder they became anything at all. His father was no example. His mother needed help and guidance in every way. She died from exhaustion.
Audie tried his best to "break out" of the insane poverty, at last being accepted into the military. At Last,...three meals a day and medical attention. He became his own hero first, the his country's, then his family's. His wife Pamela took over for him after his death and became a true "super" hero ! May God bless them ALL ! My heart goes out to the entire family.
