Have been a fan of Audie since I was a teenager. Loved his movies and admired greatly his service to our country. When my father (veteran of WW 11, Korea, and Vietnam) was buried at Arlington in 2001, I visited two other gravesites: Audie Murphy and John F. Kennedy. Added: January 6, 2014

I loved Audie Murphy since I first saw one of his movies when I was a little girl. It was not until a little later that I found out he was an American Hero in World War II. I just thought he was the greatest. I was married with a young son when he passed away and was truly saddened. To this day I wish I had been able to meet him. Added: January 6, 2014

I just finished the book "To Hell and Back" for the second time, motivated by a Vietnam veteran friend of mine who just passed away from cancer. It is amazing and a tribute to people like Audie Murphy, and my friend, for facing the challenges and horrors of military combat. My grandkids gave me the DVD of "To Hell and Back" for Christmas -- I watched it Christmas day. My best to those who serve our country. David Felix Added: January 3, 2014

I sort of remember hearing about and seeing movies of Audie Murphy when I was growing up...I was born in Jan '45. When I went into the Army as a 2nd Lt in late 1969, my first station after officer basic school at Ft Know was Kitzingen, Germany. My unit was 1st Bn 64th Armor. Our sister unit on the base was 1st Bn 15th Infantry...which was Audie's unit in the war. We were still under the 3rd Infantry Division. I wore the same '3rd ID' patch that he did. I just happened to watch his movie "To Hell and Back" last night...Jan 2, 2014...and it brought back memories of my military days in Germany in the early 70's. I was there at the time Audie was killed in the plane crash, although I don't think I heard about it. He was a true American hero. Strange, while I was on station there, the 1/15th found and dug up a WW11 German half-track and restored it. It was an honor to be co-existing with the same unit Murphy served in. I am currently a SGT in the United States Army and I am studying to become a part of S*A*M*C. I want to be a part of Audie Murphy's history and I am proud to serve our country just as Audie did. Added: January 3, 2014
