As a young boy, I watched what seemed to be a reluctant person on the screen in Mr. Murphy, however, I liked that he always did what was right in the right way. Some how, I could tell that was a part of who he really was. My Dad taught me to do a thing right or not at all. This was the same as I saw in Mr. Murphy. I served our country in Vietnam in 1969. Mr. Murphy was right about who the real heros are. I don't know if Mr. Murphy would know or like our country today, with money now controling the political process and america no longer standing for true freedom as it once did. My father served and fought in WWII at the battle of Kasserine Pass, along with my 3 of my wife's family that served and fought in the battle of the Philippines. My father spoke of Audie Murphy and I have taught my children as well of his great legacy and heroism. Although more should be done to continue his legacy but he will-not be forgotten here. I appreciate the website and support any efforts that bring light to our hero's, but when you learn about Audie Murphy he was exceptional. Added: February 1, 2014

A great man, great soldier, great movie actor. He made America what it is today and I'm proud to have the name Murphy. I just wish I had the chance to meet him in person it would have been a great moment in my life. I salute you Audie L. Murphy. I have watched every movie Audie has made. Audie has always been one of my heroes, met him in Montgomery Al. 1964 at dedication of WW11 memorial. America no longer honors it heroes as it should. Thanks Audie for all you did. And making a safer place to live and grow up in. I am 69. Added: January 29, 2014

I enjoyed his movies as a teenager. I only learned in later life what an inspiration he was both to his family and his country.Despite humble, troubled beginnings, he rose to the highest level of American heroism. Added: January 27, 2014

I was a good friend of Audie,s back in California when he was working in films at Universal. I was originally from Texas,too. He was dating a friend of mine and when I was divorced and he was still single we dated before both of us re-married. My second husband was from Connecticut, so we moved here to CT. When Audi was killed in that airplane crash, it broke my heart. I would like to meet his sons. I really loved Audie! Added: January 27, 2014
