When I was stationed in Fort Hood Texas, they took great pride in the fact that Audie Murphy served in the 2nd Armored Division. I often wonder what happened to the big display they had honoring him in 2nd Armored HQ. There has definitely been some great people join the likes of Lt, Murphy, only time will tell if we see anyone as great? :)

I knew that Mr.Murphy served in WW2, I'm ashamed that I didn't know the full extent of Mr. Murphy's service to our country. My apologies.

I believe that Audie Murphy was one of most recognized members of that era's 'Greatest Generation'. I know when my sons were growing up I ensured that they watched his story TO HELL AND BACK, because I believe it serves as a model for their generation and all future generations that when our country calls upon the people; we the people need to stand up, step forward and answer that call to duty. GOD BLESS Audie Murphy and America
