My dad told me about Audie Murphy a few years ago. I am astounded to read as to how many decorations he earned. A true inspiration. We enjoy what we have today as a result of such heroism. I also like watching his films but I wonder how many of the younger generation see this gentleman on film without realising what he did. Added: November 1, 2014

He was an amazing man. What he accomplished in WW11 was a tribute to the greatest generation. My father was in the Army in the South Pacific and I served in Vietnam. I also likes his movies. Added: October 31, 2014

I just finished watching memories of Audie Murphy on my computer. I never tire of watching anything to do with Audie. I wish all the children of this world would model themselves after him. I saw To Hell and Back with my father when the movie 1st came out. I was 12 or 13. I was flabbergasted and Audi's story has been permanently etched into my brain since. Although my dad was a veteran of Wisconsin's Red Arrow Division, he didn't serve on active duty as his skills were much needed in the vital steel casting industry. History always has been my favorite addiction, especially those stories of WWII, Korea and Vietnam and our own Civil War. Because of my service in the US Air Force Veteran my active duty only pales by comparison to those who have served before or since. Because of this I am deeply awed and humbly cowed by Audi Murphy's service above self. I will put visiting his museum on my bucket list. Meanwhile I will absorb his history with admiration, respect and love for him along with those other WWII servicemen and women. Rest in Peace Mr. Murphy and Thank you for your service.
