Was in love with Audie Murphy when I was a kid and knew he was a highly decorated soldier (because my daddy said so). So today is Veterans Day and I am watching "To Hell and Back" and I started wondering about the truth concerning my childhood and present-day hero.

I am so glad this site is here I was just looking for some information on Audie Murphy. I was in JROTC when I first heard him in 1971 as a freshman in high school.

Looking for my church & cem. Prairie Grove Cem. Diboll, Tx on the internet, I found this. I will never forget one Sunday attending a small church in Dibol Tx. I saw a person dressed in western shirt & jeans that looked exactly like Audie.I was shocked. This was approximately 1971.They say everyone has a twin somewhere,Audie did.I feel he deserves the medal.I will never forget him.
