Thanks for your efforts to preserve the the memory and heroic deeds of Audie L. Murphy. May we all learn to value freedom and responsibility with the same level of courage and dedication that he demonstrated during WWll.

I have nominated Audie Murphy to the American Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame. Audie was a good horseman and breeder of AQHA Racing Quarter Horses. I purchased the quarter race horse Audie bred, Bull Run and spoke to Audie a few days before the plane crash. I had Bull Run until he died. I have pictures of Audie on his stallion, Joe Queen. I work with the Warrior Wellness Foundation (equine assisted learning) at the US Air Force Academy Pine Valley Ranch. BJB

After many years I am coming forward that I own a 22 short rifle that Audie and my dad used to hunt small game in the Farmersville area in the early 30's I believe. My dad toiled me many stories about the rifle when I was young.

I am of Irish decent and all of my family is from the Farmersville area who were cotton pickers with the Murphy family.

I spoke to Audie's sister many years ago when she was in her late eighties but seemed to be in a good mind. I spoke to her about my Grandmother who was on a picture with one of their family members who I needed to identity. She was a great help.

I mentioned how proud I was that Audie was was a great hero for us but she cut me off short and said that she also had a brother that was equally a hero. (i knew this to be true that he was a Texas HP officer killed on duty.)
I acknowledged his service as well and apologized for being one minded.

This gun will never leave my sight. It is still in excellent condition which I shoot occasionally and will hand down to my son one day.

God bless

I found his page and information by chance and it is an honour to read his military accomplishments. He was truly a fine warrior and deserves the accolades bestowed upon him for his service to his friends, comrades and the United States.

While watching one of his old movies on television got me wondering about his history, I googled his name and was totally knocked out by his life story, what a life what an absolute hero this guy was and not just as a soldier but as an advocate for returning vets from later wars about PTSS or combat fatigue also from which he suffered himself. he crammed a lot into his short life a true hero in every sense of the word.
