I HAVE LONG ADMIRED AUDIE MURPHY FOR HIS HEROISM AND COURAGE AGAINST INCREDIBLE ODDS AT SUCH AN EARLY AGE. LONG MAY HIS MEMORY LIVE.

I was watching some Audie Murphy movies on TV and remembered that he died young. I asked my husband, a WWII history buff-and son of a WWII navy vet, what happened to him and what medals did Murphy receive. He said, "Google him! Read up on it!" Luckily, I found your website. I will share this with my son, an Iraq War vet (U.S. Marines, Purple Heart etc.) who will undoubtedly share this with "his guys."

A true American hero that we can look up to and point to with pride. I think the world would be a better place if we had more Audie Murphy icons than the current bunch of riff raff in the movie industry. :o

Great hero that the younger generations know little about. Men of Mr. Murphy's era, as was my father, went to war, accomplished the victory and never talked about it later. They died too young without enough thanks and appreciation.

I loved Audie Murphy. I just finished watching one of his westerns. Not academy award material but just the samee it was a typical Murphy movie. Let's not forget our countrys most decorated hero...Carol Connors
