Comment:
After I returned from the Pacific, after World War II, I run a Texaco gas station in Plano for a while. Audie Murphy would come by with his friend to get gas. He liked to sit with his feet up and I always admired his great cowboy boots. There are so many cowboy boots around here, but never as preety as his. He was a quiet man, but made an impression, before he became a movie star, or celebrity. Added: December 19, 2011

I have been a Audie Murphy fan my entire life. I grew up watching his westerns. I still watch them on the Encore Western channel. I was a teenager before I knew and understood what a real life hero he was. He certainly is an individual that our younger generation should look up to. Added: December 18, 2011

I served in the Army in Vietnam. My experience was nothing like those who fought in WWI & WWII. I have the utmost respect and gratitude for our soldiers who left their comfortable lives and their futures to slog in foreign mud and die so far from their loved ones and so far from the kind of life they paid for.
