I also work at a historic lighthouse that has extensive history during WWII and write monthly articles on WWII for the county Veterans Council publication. I am researching Audie Murphey for an up-coming article. The articles are provided free to our veterans as an educational service to meet our non-profit museum's mission of education. I've always admired Audie Murphy as a kid born in the 1950s! His acts of courage were astounding and I liked him as a person. He was always so down to earth and a very likeable person. He was a true American Hero and worthy of admiration ! Added: July 20, 2022

Audie Murphy served with my high school history at Ft. Hood, Texas. Coach G would tell stories about how good a person Mr. Murphy was and that he was also a brother master mason. So I am putting together an exhibit for the Lee Lockwood Scottish Rite Library & Museum to honor brother Audie Murphy. Added: July 13, 2022

I have known about Audie Murphy because my father was a soldier during World War ll . Audie died when I was eleven years old. When I was 14, I saw the movie To Hell and Back. I loved this movie and still watch it today. The Grit channel on cable runs Audie’s movies and I have been watching them. A great American and a true hero and role model. I watched To Hell and Back as a young boy with my Dad (who also lied about his age to enlist in the Navy during WW2). I loved the movie (still do) and really came to appreciate Mr. Murphy after Dad told me about him. I just finished reading To Hell and Back and a biography of Mr. Murphy and I have more respect and admiration for him now than ever before. A true hero who never wanted notoriety and knew the true heroes were those who didn't come home. I sincerely hope Mr. Murphy found the peace he deserved. :D Added: July 5, 2022
